An introduction to Quality Options Foundation

In 2012, Joonas, Maarten and Cees founded Quality Options Foundation. Joonas had just finished his career as a professional player and began to coach at PSV’s Youth Academy. It was during this time that he, together with Maarten and Cees, decided to start an organisation to assist grass-roots clubs and academies to develop through a program underpinned by their expertise and their Dutch football ‘know-how’. They recognised this as an opportunity to also learn from about football around the world, in the countries with which they worked.

While networking and liaising with like-minded individuals, they recognised that many clubs worked hard to develop their players and coaches and wanted to operate professionally, but were not quite sure how to do it effectively. These problems were not limited to the football pitch, but also outside of it. It was this realisation from which Quality Options Foundation was really born, with three key pillars of the business coming to light focusing on football development, the commercial aspect of the organisation and the organisation of the club itself.

During the first years of operation the company worked hard to lay the foundation and developed effective, sustainable partnerships with clubs and companies around the globe. These organisations include, but are not limited to, both grass roots and professional football clubs, educational institutions (schools), sporting retail stores and elite athlete development academies. We love working with our partners, and networking with so many people. Working with such a range of organisations brings so much scope and opportunity to each of our partners and the Foundation. One moment we are training our players on the field, the next we’re meeting with the Board of Directors and engaging in conversations with sponsors.

Each partner is different and every project is different. Over the past years, we have worked with hundreds of individuals in over ten countries worldwide, engaging in challenging, fun and rewarding work. Some of these include:

  • Working closely with the players, coaches and executives at the Queensland Lions in Australia to share technical, tactical and educational knowledge and unique exchange opportunities.
  • Working, in collaboration with Sports Max Pro, to extend Hungarian football.
  • Engaging in discussions with a New York based football school to offer ongoing coaching clinics.
  • Supporting football development in Texas through the potential development of a football club.
  • Engaging in negotiations to set up schools and football academies in Tanzania and Myanmar.

Our mission is to help players, coaches and clubs alike to reach their potential, and through exciting projects, such as those above, we are able to realise this mission. Our website and social media sites will further support the realisation of this mission, as our activities will become more visible, and we hope that through these mediums we will continue to expand our business and network, meeting interesting people from all over.

Our global partnerships present exciting opportunities for all. We invite grassroots and professional clubs, potential corporate partners and individuals worldwide to make contact with us and become involved in this journey.

We look forward to hearing from you!
